BHP has signed on the dotted line with Australia’s largest Indigenous-owned holistic workplace supplier.

Kulbardi now supplies our teams across Australia with a range of products, including water, tea, coffee, milk and other consumables.

The contract helps us reach a commitment in the BHP Reconciliation Action Plan FY23-FY27 to spend A$1.5BN over four years with Traditional Owner and Indigenous businesses.

Kulbardi is a Perth-based Indigenous business with a national footprint. Established in 2013 by Kim Collard, a proud Balladong Wilmen man of the Nyoongar Nation, Kulbardi offers over 15,000 product lines.

A proportion of their profits go back to the Aboriginal community via their non-profit arm Bibbulmun Fund.

Bika Grace, Lead Consumables, said, “Over the past five years, Kulbardi has been a trusted supplier for BHP’s Nickel West Asset and we are excited to be able to extend our partnership with them nationally.”

It’s expected that BHP will spend over $6M with Kulbardi in the first year of the contract nationwide.

Supporting Australian Indigenous procurement opportunities is an important step towards promoting economic development and empowerment of Indigenous communities.

“We are confident that this partnership will lead to further sustainable and impactful initiatives as it is based on mutual benefit and will continue to grow for many years to come,” said Bika.
