Yesterday, during the first Members' Meeting in 2013,
the General Assembly elected the new Board of European Bioplastics. François de Bie (Purac) was elected as Chairman. Mariagiovanna Vetere (NatureWorks) and Stefano Facco (Novamont) are Vice-Chairpersons.

Further members of the Board are: Jürgen Keck (BASF),
Peter Brunk (Biotec), Rainer Schweda (Braskem), and
Johnny Pallot (Roquette).

"Bioplastics will help make this world a more sustainable
place for now and for our future generations. However,
in our society many consumers, brand owners and converters are not yet aware of the benefits of bioplastics.
In the coming years, European Bioplastics will focus
on changing this," François de Bie pointed out at the beginning of his term as Chairman.

Members elect a non-executive Board every two years from among the association's members. The Board determines the strategic direction of day-to-day operations at European Bioplastics. The General Assembly establishes fundamental objectives and the Board is responsible for their implementation and the drafting of the association's strategy. On the executive side, Mr Hasso von Pogrell serves as Managing Director of European Bioplastics.
