Strong partnership with MessageLabs pays off
A recent report from MessageLabs has shown that the amount of spam being sent in Q1 2007 was higher than at any time since Q1 2005. March figures put the spam rate at over 75%, meaning that 3 out of every 4 unfiltered e-mails is now spam. Over the past four quarters, the spam rate has risen continuously to reach the current peak. Such high levels of spam are more than just a nuisance - unless business addresses these remarkably high incidence levels with the seriousness they deserve, the cost to business can be high. At the very least, such high levels of redundant and often malevolent communication consume network bandwidth alarmingly, slowing down essential business communication.

In order to combat this continuing threat to business, Getronics offers e-mail and internet traffic cleaning to its worldwide client base. As an element of Getronics' managed security services, the solution is set to become an integral part of Getronics highly-regarded workspace management business. By creating a focused solution for this specialist area, Getronics recognises the continually increasing importance of the internet/e-mail/messaging mix in its clients' business communications and the associated threats posed by spam and viruses. In order to offer the best protection for this business-critical area of operations, Getronics has chosen to partner with specialist sector leader, MessageLabs. Getronics is currently one of only two organisations to partner with MessageLabs across all three of their global regions.

Haydar Cimen, global director of security solutions at Getronics explains the choice, 'MessageLabs give our clients unmatched confidence. This is thanks in part to their impressively pro-active stance: they don't just deal with what's out there - they guarantee their ability to counter threats that are yet to come.'

'As a managed service provider, MessageLabs shares Getronics' vision of effective security for clean internet traffic,' said Richard Collins, MessageLabs VP EMEA. 'With Getronics' global reach and MessageLabs' expertise in providing security protection to businesses worldwide, the partnership will foster continued growth around the globe. MessageLabs is committed to building partner relationships that identify and grow sales opportunities while providing market-leading, differentiated solutions that create competitive advantage.'

Since formulating the clean internet traffic service in 2006, Getronics has built a solid base of clients. One of the most recent organisations to select Getronics for this service is the leading Dutch event and conference provider, RAI. RAI ICT Manager, Mr Rob P.R. Schouten, is convinced of the way forwards, 'A business like ours is massively dependent on the quality of communication and safeguarding the security of all internet and mail now demands a degree of expertise which can only be provided by a specialist. By selecting Getronics to manage all our anti-spam and anti-virus requirements, we can focus on our business with confidence.'

The Getronics clean internet traffic solution has been designed as a modular option for its flagship workspace management offer, the Future-Ready Workspace.
