1 Week beurshandel heeft nog geen duidelijke richting gegeven aan de handel op de beurzen. Toch laten wij (red.) ons niet misleiden, want al die goed bedoelde adviezen komen ook maar van mensen af.
Wie kan er in de toekomst kijken?

Iedereen heeft zo zijn/haar eigen gedachten over de toekomstige ontwikkelingen in de wereld en probeert dat alles op een "rijtje" te zetten met alle gevolgen van dien.
De Euro (zwakte) houdt ons sterk bezig en de gevolgen ervan weten wij ook niet precies in te schatten. Waar moet je met je geld naar toe?
Niet in Euro spaar of deposito's, wij zien meer en de room is al aardig afgeroomd in de dollar sfeer, C$, Singapore, AU$ en NZ$

En kwaliteitsaandelen betalen zich vroeg of laat altijd uit. Dat hebben wij wel ondervonden in de klein 50 jaar dat we meedraaien in het Effectenvak.
Ook de oude spreuk: "niet alles op 1 paard zetten", gaat nog steeds op. Want wij schrijven zo vaak, denk om Uw spreiding en dan krijgen wij mails van, "ik heb mijn geld op fonds X gezet, wat vindt XEA.nl ervan?
Niet slim om alles op 1 kaart of paard te zetten is ons korte antwoord dan.
Wij lazen van een Fondsmanager dat hij keek naar groeien fondsen en innovatie mogelijkheden en de Biotech fondsen had hij er ook bijzitten.

Jan. 9 (Bloomberg) -- Home prices in Dubai, the property market that had the biggest reversal because of the financial crisis, fell as much as 5.1 percent in the fourth quarter from the previous three months and more declines are “unavoidable,” Cluttons LLP said. Cluttons, a London-based property broker, said villa prices dropped 5.1 percent, while apartment values declined 2.4 percent in the fourth quarter from the third. The broker expects 35,000 homes to be completed in Dubai over the next two years. Property prices in the emirate slid by almost 60 percent from their peak in mid-2008 after the credit crisis squeezed speculators out of the market and forced banks to lend less, Ahmed Badr, analyst at Credit Suisse Group AG said today.

Jan. 7 (Bloomberg) -- Alcoa Inc., the largest U.S. aluminum producer, plans to restart idled capacity at three smelters, adding 137,000 metric tons of output this year. Alcoa will restart potlines at Massena East in Massena, New York, Wenatchee Works in Malaga, Washington, and Intalco in Ferndale, Washington, the company said today in a statement. A potline is a row of electrolytic cells that smelt alumina to produce aluminum. The plan will add about 260 jobs and boost Alcoa’s annual production by 200,000 tons after this year, the New York-based company said.

Reuters) - London-listed miner Xstrata (XTA.L) is close to winning the $8 billion auction for Colombia's second-biggest coal miner, British newspaper The Sunday Times said, without citing sources. The newspaper said Xstrata was the only suitor to table a fully-financed offer for the business, which is being sold by family-owned U.S. group Drummond DRMND.UL, by last month's deadline. Bank of America-Merrill Lynch, which is running the auction, extended the timeframe to allow other bidders including London-listed Vedanta Resources (VED.L) and India's Essar Global more time to arrange financing, the paper said.

Reuters) - China National Chemical Corp (ChemChina) has now signed the deal to buy 60 percent of Israel's MA Industries (MAIN.TA), it was announced on Sunday, China's latest move to expand in the global agricultural chemicals market. The deal, which values the world's biggest maker of generic crop protection chemicals at $2.4 billion, will see MA's parent Koor Industries (KOR.TA) retain 40 percent of the maker of fungicides, pesticides and herbicides, Koor said on Sunday. The companies had said on December 28 that a sale had been agreed and the deal would be signed within two weeks.

Reuters) - Duke Energy Corp (DUK.N), the third-largest U.S. power company, is in talks to acquire rival Progress Energy Inc (PGN.N) in a deal worth more than $13 billion that could be announced as soon as Monday, the Financial Times reported on Saturday. Citing unnamed people familiar with the situation, the newspaper said the stock-based deal could happen at a modest premium to Progress' current market value of $13.1 billion. Duke spokesman Tom Williams declined comment on the report. Progress did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment
