Reuters) - Intel Corp (INTC.O)'s $7.68 billion deal to buy security-software specialist McAfee (MFE.N) Inc is running into close scrutiny from European officials that could delay the transaction, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday. Citing people familiar with the matter, the newspaper said the European Union's anti-trust regulator had privately expressed concerns during its preliminary review of the deal, which could prompt the regulator to submit the deal to a lengthy examination. A key focus of the European review, the report said, is Intel's stated desire to incorporate security features into its widely used microprocessor chips. The EU appears concerned that if McAfee, by virtue of being owned by Intel, had privileged access to those features, it could be difficult for McAfee's rivals to compete, they added.

In London willen ze toch meer in agrarische producten gaan handelen o.a. suiker en granen. Daarom toezichthouders, wees eens een "flinke" toezichthouder en stel bij , om te beginnen, een leveringverplichting in van 40% van de waarde van 't contract.

Dec. 18 (Bloomberg) -- A consolidation among “expert-network” companies probably will accelerate after the arrest of two Primary Global Research LLC employees and three of the firm’s outside consultants in the past three weeks.
The U.S. insider-trading investigation that led to the arrests will prompt clients to withdraw and heighten pressure on companies to prevent their experts from leaking nonpublic information to clients, according to Michael Mayhew, founder of Integrity Research Associates LLC in New York, which tracks the industry. Those that can’t afford or don’t want to make costly technology and personnel investments to upgrade compliance will be winnowed out, he said in a telephone interview. “This next few months could put some firms out of business,” said Mayhew, who has talked with clients in recent days who are concerned that the investigation will open them up to scrutiny. “Business will become more difficult, and there will be consolidation.” Last year, Guidepoint Global LLC in New York acquired Vista Research Inc. from Standard & Poor’s Corp. Fees were being squeezed even before the government probe, said Mayhew, whose firm is 20 percent owned by Zurich-based UBS AG, the largest Swiss bank.

In de Scandinavische landen wordt een beetje met leedvermaak over de gevolgen van de Euro gesproken, dat had je toch wel aan kunnen zien komen, de "BENDE" die er nu is ontstaan!
De Argentijnse Minister waarschuwt Europa al, "stempel de euroschulden af om nog meer "Bende" te voorkomen.
Daar ga je dan als beleggers met je "staatsobligaties!
Wat kan je daar tegen doen?
Beleggen in edelmetalen, die bieden nu het tegenwicht.
Rating bureau's wijzigen de rating van verschillende landen, nu Ierland en wie volgt?
Maar wie controleert de "Ratingbureau's"?
Waar waren zij met HUN beoordeling over de landen met hun "torenhoge" schulden bij de toetreding naar de Euro? Toen hielden zij hun mond. Zijn zij niet alleen bij Griekenland, maar ook Italië, Spanje, Portugal, Ierland en eigenlijk bij wel Euroland niet tekort geschoten in hun beoordeling voor de rating van al die landen, tijdens de toetredingen.
De Scandinavische landen hebben geen Euro en geen zorgen over die geweigerde toetreding van de euro.
Zullen zij dat toetreden ooit gaan doen? Een gewaarschuwd land telt voor twee!
