TIE Kinetix announced today that their ISO 27001:2017 certification has successfully passed its yearly review from an independent auditor. The international standard is the only globally recognized certification for information security and is the most prestigious designation awarded at the organizational level.

“As an organization that handles a large amount of information on a daily basis, TIE Kinetix is responsible for handling that data correctly and ensuring its protection,” says Juan Vicente Vidagany Espert, CTO, TIE Kinetix. “Any service provider can say that they take information security seriously—proving it is the real challenge. Our ISO 27001:2017 certification immediately communicates to the outside world, and to our partners and customers in particular, that their data is in good hands.”

As of this year, ISO 27001 certification is mandatory for all service providers that wish to serve as an official PEPPOL Access Point in the Netherlands, as well as in some other countries. “Increased data breaches from hackers and other compromising events have led many businesses and governmental organizations to reevaluate how their information is stored and handled by third parties,” says Jan Sundelin, CEO, TIE Kinetix. “We’re receiving more and more requests to provide our ISO certification, and this makes a lot of sense. When a company is ISO certified, processes and policies are in place to deal with identifiable risks.”

Because it is so secure, many organizations include ISO 27001:2017 certification as a checkpoint in their vendor risk evaluation process. This often applies to public sector institutions that are legally required to send and receive electronic invoices in accordance with certain standards. These organizations often utilize the PEPPOL network, which is also making its way into the business-to-business (B2B) realm.
