Royal DSM N.V., the global Life Sciences and Materials Sciences company headquartered in the Netherlands, today announces the following management changes:
Mr. Bob Hartmayer (1952), currently President and CEO of DSM Pharmaceutical Products, will retire after a long and successful career at DSM at the end of 2010.

He will be succeeded by Mr. Alexander Wessels (1964), currently President and CEO of DSM Food Specialties. In this role he will continue to report to Mr. Stephan Tanda, Member of the DSM Managing Board. Alexander Wessels will work together with Bob Hartmayer through a transition period and will assume responsibility for DSM Pharmaceutical Products per November 1, 2010.

Mr. Hans Christian Ambjerg (1964), currently Senior Vice President Film & Fibre with Borealis, will succeed Alexander Wessels as President and CEO of DSM Food Specialties per August 1, 2010. In this role he will report to Mr. Stephan Tanda, Member of the DSM Managing Board.

Hans Christian Ambjerg, a Danish national, is highly experienced in the health and nutrition industry. He has built a long standing career in general management and marketing positions with Chr. Hansen, Hercules and Danisco all over the world. His track record in the industry, building business and realizing significant growth will give him an excellent starting position to impact the business in the Nutrition Cluster.
