Spain truckers' union strike disrupts supply chains across all sectors
TORONTO, March 25, 2022 /CNW/ - Orvana Minerals Corp. (TSX: ORV) (the "Company" or "Orvana") announces a temporary suspension of its Orovalle operations, in Spain, as a result of the lack of timely supply of materials caused by a national strike of transportation services.
Several Spanish truckers' unions commenced a nationwide strike on March 14 over rising fuel prices and working conditions. The protest in the transport sector has disrupted the supply chains across all sectors.
The Company is monitoring the situation that is affecting Spain on a nation-wide basis and will provide further updates as material developments occur as it relates to the operations at Orovalle. Orvana intends to resume normal production at Orovalle when transportation services restart. In the meantime, the Company continues to investigate any and all options at its disposal to restart operations.
