Océ Leads in Production Roll-Fed Digital Printing in the United States

Océ (NASDAQ: OCENY), a global leader in digital document management and delivery solutions, is the 2004 production roll-fed digital printer placement leader in the United States according to 2004 market share statistics published by InfoTrends/CAP Ventures. The company also held the top spot in 2003, the first year that InfoTrends/CAP Ventures began publishing market share for this category.

InfoTrends/CAP Ventures reported that Océ leads with its roll-fed printer product line in the United States with a 2004 share of 48 percent.

City of Houston Reduces Costs and Improves Efficiency with Digital Print and Copy Center from Océ Business Services.
New Centralized, Custom-Designed Print and Copy Services to Save a Projected $250,000 per Year

Océ (NASDAQ: OCENY), a global leader in digital printing and imaging solutions, announced today that Océ Business Services has been awarded a multi-year contract by the City of Houston for document process management services. Océ Business Services will design and manage an on-premise centralized Imaging Solution center, for Houston City Hall. The center will provide complete print, copy and scanning services for the City’s black and white, color and large-format requirements.

The contract award was the result of the City’s thorough analysis of cost-effective alternatives to upgrade its document management program and is the first time the City has outsourced these document processes. The City expects that the new center will deliver $250,000 annually in cost savings and greatly improve efficiency among its 16 departments and 20,000 employees, which are spread across Houston.

"As the fourth largest city in the United States, we pride ourselves on adopting innovative technology to better serve residents," said Gary Gray, Assistant Director of Finance for the City of Houston. "Our goal was to upgrade our document management program to a first class operation that saved us time and money. Hands down, Océ Business Services was able to give us a more cost-effective, compelling roadmap for faster, higher quality print and copy services that will ultimately help us better serve taxpayers."

The centralized services will include:
Convenient, Web-based job submission by City employees from geographically dispersed locations through Océ Doc Works ProTM output management software;
A color production system that combines color copy press and direct imaging technology to deliver high impact color, sharp registration and consistent color quality throughout the entire run with no user calibration required – ever. From the Océ CPS series, the system also provides the flexibility to print on most types of media at 30 images per minute;
Powerful multifunction capacity for high-volume, high-quality printing, scanning and copying with the award-winning Océ VarioPrint® 2090 SL, and the Océ VarioPrint® 2065;
Professional staffing from Océ Business Services to manage the center and provide document and courier services.
Previously, a city-owned copy center and off-site printing operation fulfilled the City’s document management needs.

"Océ Business Services suggested an operation-wide network solution, which allows all 16 of our departments to submit jobs from their desktops – even though they are spread out across the City and even beyond City limits," said Mr. Gray. "It is estimated that we will increase production the first year by 10% using this solution. Combined with their expedient courier service and staffing, City employees will see a remarkable turnaround in print and copy requests which will benefit residents across the board."

Oce bouwt in de VS ook haar bedrijf uit. Alleen Oce loopt er niet zo mee te koop. Bescheidenheid siert, maar een beetje spontaneiteit mag ook wel eens.
Wat zegt de CEO van Iperen over het eerste kwartaal 2005. Dat ons wat tegenviel!
"Onze (OCE's) strategie met als speerpunten versterking van de verkooporganisatie en voordurende productinnovatie, werpt vruchten af. We hebben in het eerste kwartaal een sterke stijging van de verkoop van printsystemen en sotware gerealiseerd. Dit is de motor van onze onderneming. Deze ontwikkeling zal zich vertalen in een herstel van de inkomsten uit service. Wij handhaven daarom onze eerder uitgesproken verwachting dat het commerciele resultaat exclusief de winst uit verkoop cvan lease zal stijgen ten opzichte van 2004".
Oce had in het eerste kwartaal 2005 een non-recurring omzetstijging van 25%. Deze hoge stijging is het gevolg van de succesvolle verkoop van het vernieuwde assortiment printsystemen. De recurring omzet daalde met 5%.
Ook zal Oce een groter deel van de productie naar Azië verplaatsen om de kostprijs van de apparaten te verlagen.

Als Oce haar Lease-portefeuille heeft verkocht, dan is Oce schulden vrij en heeft een zakgeld er nog bij van ca. EUR 300 miljoen en misschien zelfs meer dan genoemd bedrag. Het gemiddeld aantal aandelen was per 30/11/2004 (einde boekjaar) 83,5 miljoen stuks en er wordt een dividend van EUR 0,58 betaald. De huidige koers van het aandeel Oce is EUR 12,36, dan zit je op een rendement van ca. 4,7%. Dan doet Oce's rendement niet veel onder voor 'n bankaandeel.
Het zichtbaar eigen vermogen is EUR 7,87 per 30/11/2004.
