Corbion launches its new portfolio of non-PHO emulsifiers, Ensemble(TM), at IFT 2015 this week in Chicago. The new line delivers drop-in functionality to maintain color, flavor and texture, without sacrificing quality, handling or shelf stability in a wide variety of applications including bakery, confectionery, dairy, beverages and processed foods.

Corbion's new emulsifier portfolio is the first of its kind and was specially developed to help food and beverage manufacturers remove PHOs from their products, as mandated by the US Food and Drug Administration last month, and meet growing consumer demand for better for you products. Formulated from a proprietary mixture of non-PHOs, the pioneering solutions deliver drop-in functionality and mimic the thermal stability of emulsifiers traditionally formulated with PHO, while also outperforming products formulated with 100% palm oil. Removing the requirement for extensive reformulation, Corbion's Ensemble(TM) portfolio cuts operational disruption by allowing customers to simplify and streamline their reformulation efforts.

Corbion Caravan Offers New Egg Replacement Solutions

New Function Plus 200 can replace up to 100 percent of powdered eggs in baked goods

As the national shortage of eggs continues throughout the U.S., Corbion Caravan is offering new egg extender and replacement solutions specifically developed to address bakery industry concerns.

"We understand our customers' concerns about the egg shortage and its impact on both the availability and affordability of eggs and egg products," says Kathy Sargent, manager, sweet goods. "In addition to our existing egg replacement options, Corbion Caravan now has two new solutions to help ensure customers have the ingredients they need to produce delicious baked goods that drive sales."

Along with Corbion Caravan's Cara-Eg and Bro-Eg egg extender and replacement products, Sargent says the company is introducing Function Plus 100 and Function Plus 200.

"Both of these solutions lower product cost by replacing eggs, are easy to scale and handle, and create moist, tender baked goods without impacting the flavor profile of the original product," says Sargent. "As our premium product, Function Plus 200 can replace up to 100 percent of the powdered egg amount required in recipes for everything from muffins and brownies to high-ratio cake systems."

Corbion Purac Launches New Multifunctional Clean Label Line at IFT

Corbion Purac announces the launch of a new multifunctional meat ingredient portfolio at this year's IFT in Chicago. Verdad® Avanta(TM) provides advanced food safety and quality in a wide variety of ready-to-eat (RTE) and raw meat and poultry products. Part of Corbion's extensive Verdad® range of clean label preservatives, these two new products will provide meat processors with value-adding functionalities, such as enhanced yield and superior freshness, in one single ingredient solution for both standard and natural meats.

Based on a specially formulated patent-pending blend of natural ingredients, and backed by the Corbion Listeria Control Model, Verdad® Avanta(TM) Y100 effectively controls bacterial growth in RTE meats such as turkey, while at the same time providing the product with a firm texture for improved sliceability, resulting in an overall cooking yield increase of 5- 9%.

Corbion is also launching Verdad® Avanta(TM) F100 for prolonged freshness in raw and processed meats like sausages. Derived from natural common food pantry ingredients, Verdad® Avanta(TM) F100 delivers enhanced food safety while maintaining the fresh color and flavor of raw meats, helping manufacturers retain consumer appeal.

Both Verdad® Avanta(TM) Y100 and Verdad® Avanta(TM) F100 offer simple labeling and are available in powder form for reduced transportation and storage costs and easy application. These new ingredients offer processors a single ingredient solution with multiple functionalities.

Corbion Receives 2015 IFT Food Expo Innovation Award

Ultra Fresh® Premium Advantage is honored as an "outstanding innovation"

At the 2015 IFT Food Expo in Chicago, the spotlight is shining on Corbion and Ultra Fresh Premium Advantage, the first optimized enzyme blend that uses the synergistic combination of different enzymes to achieve maximum freshness and shelf life, while allowing significant reduction of the added sugar in the bread formula. This breakthrough product also enhances softness, further adding to its consumer appeal.

Ultra Fresh Premium Advantage is one of only four products honored with the 2015 IFT Food Expo Innovation Award. The awards program celebrates "outstanding innovation in products, equipment, instrumentation, technology and services." Award winners are chosen for degree of innovation, technical advancement, benefit to food manufacturers and/or consumers and scientific merit.
