Gemalto's Trusted Service Hub (TSH) ensures a swift and secure transition to the mobile payment service for El Corte Inglés card holders. The pioneering move makes Financiera El Corte Inglés the first private label card provider in Spain to adopt Samsung Pay. The payment solution is based on PURE, a white label payment application which brings EMV technology to private label cards, reinforcing the Spanish retailer complete autonomy with its payment eco-system.
Companion digitized cards can be created in an instant
Over 11 million consumers currently hold an El Corte Inglés payment card. For these shoppers, creating a digital card on Samsung Pay will involve nothing more than a simple online enrolment powered by the Gemalto TSH platform. Gemalto's TSH provides the entire digitalization and tokenization process. In simple terms, El Corte Inglés card holders can opt to replace the physical card's credential with a substitute digital value known as a token. Only the token's data is stored on the phone, ensuring that the real card credentials are protected from fraudsters and misuse. As for customers, they benefit from the convenience brought by the digital card to pay for goods and services and can authenticate transactions instantly and securely using biometrics.

Amsterdam, 21 juli 2017 - Gemalto, de wereldleider in digitale beveiliging, biedt de klanten van El Corte Inglés, de grootste warenhuisketen van Spanje, de kans om hun betaalkaart op eenvoudige wijze te koppelen aan de populaire mobiele portefeuille Samsung Pay. De Trusted Service Hub (TSH) van Gemalto zorgt voor een vlotte en veilige overgang naar de mobiele betaaldienst. Financiera El Corte Inglés* wordt hiermee de eerste uitgever van betaalkaarten in Spanje die onder hun eigen label Samsung Pay invoert. De oplossing is gebaseerd op PURE, een white-label betaalapplicatie met EMV-technologie voor kaarten die onder eigen label worden uitgegeven. Daardoor blijft de Spaanse retailer volledige onafhankelijk met een eigen ecosysteem voor betalingen.
Snel en gemakkelijk betalen
Momenteel zijn er meer dan 11 miljoen klanten met een betaalkaart van El Corte Inglés. Deze klanten kunnen nu snel en eenvoudig een digitale kaart aanmaken op Samsung Pay door zich online te registreren via het TSH-platform van Gemalto. De TSH van Gemalto zorgt voor het volledige proces van digitalisering en tokenisatie. Met andere woorden, klanten die in het bezit zijn van een betaalkaart van El Corte Inglés kunnen ervoor kiezen om de identificatiegegevens van hun kaart te vervangen door een digitale token. Alleen de gegevens van het token worden opgeslagen op het toestel, zodat de echte kaartidentificatiegegevens beschermd zijn tegen fraude en misbruik. De klanten profiteren van het gemak waarmee ze met de digitale kaart kunnen betalen en van veilige transacties doordat deze direct met biometrische authenticatietools kunnen worden bevestigd.
