September 3, 2014 - ARCADIS (EURONEXT: ARCAD), the world's leading natural and built asset design and consultancy firm, announced today that it has won two new aviation contracts in Latin America, for a total amount of US$23 million. Both contracts are aligned to ARCADIS' strategy to develop its aviation and wider infrastructure presence in Latin America. Together, the contracts cover a broad range of aviation services including planning, conceptual design, engineering, program and project management as well as business advisory.

Under the larger of the two contracts, ARCADIS provides design and engineering consulting services for the expansion of the Jorge Chávez International Airport, the largest airport in Peru, in the city of Lima. The other contract encompasses project management consulting services for the development of the first private commercial airport in Brazil, named Catarina and located at São Roque, in the state of São Paulo. Both contracts will last approximately two years.

A team of ARCADIS aviation experts from Brazil, the United Kingdom, Chile and Peru will be assembled in the coming weeks to perform the planning and design services for the development of Jorge Chávez International Airport. LAP's expectation is to reach 30 million passengers by the year 2031, and the expansion project includes the development of a new terminal, new runway, aprons and the retrofit and expansion of the existing terminal.

ARCADIS has already started performing project management for the development and implementation of Catarina Airport. The airport is being developed in response to increasing air travel in the country, and will provide a modern approach to airport development that comprises airport facilities, commercial facilities and office buildings. Among the main features of the airport infrastructure are a 2,470m runway, maintenance facilities and overnight stay hangars for business jets. It also includes a helipad to connect users to various business destinations of the state capital, a new control tower and a general aviation terminal.

"Following the successful delivery of project management consulting services to Brazil's largest airport a few months ago, ARCADIS' global expertise, alongside the local knowledge and experience, has led to these project wins, supporting our continued growth in the Latin American market. We are very proud of being recognized as a reliable and trusted advisor for aviation projects. The Lima Airport Project will reinforce our presence in Peru", said Manoel Antonio Avelino, CEO ARCADIS for the Latin America region.
