DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products, Corbion, INOLEX, and ACT Solutions Collaborate to Create a Range of Personal Care Product Formulations Delivering High Performance and up to 100% Bio-based Content.

Achieving High Performance and High Bio-based Content Formulations is Now a Reality

New York, New York, May 6, 2019 - A key challenge for personal care formulators is to create natural and sustainable products that deliver targeted marketing claims yet do not compromise performance and safety demanded by consumers today. Many natural claims are not supported by certified content. Now, through an innovative collaboration project, we are bringing the ability to create certified, high performing, high bio-based content formulations to the personal care market.

During the Suppliers' Day exhibition on May 7th and 8th at the Javits Center in New York City, DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products (booth #742), Corbion (booth # 203) and Inolex (booth #1025) will have fifteen (15) new certified high bio-based content leave-on and rinse-off finished product formulas, available to experience first-hand. The formulations were developed and packaged by personal care industry recognized experts, ACT Solutions Corp.

"These newly formulated personal care products developed through our technical collaboration are proof the formulator no longer needs to trade-off between performance and sustainability when selecting ingredients", explained Steve Hurff, vice president of marketing & sales at DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products.

"Collaboration is in our DNA at Corbion and we are excited to a partner with other world-class bio-based ingredient suppliers to bring these innovative formulas to personal care companies and consumers." adds Lisa Swain, Global Market Director Biochemicals at Corbion.

"Consumer demand for natural products is continuously growing and they expect products that perform. The market-ready bio-based formulations developed in this collaboration are a significant step forward in delivering consumer-desired products that are certified for bio-based content." adds Lisa Gandolfi, Director of Marketing at INOLEX.

A critical requirement of this collaboration was to have each formula receive USDA BioPreferredĀ® product certification which relies on a quantitative ASTM test method performed by an outside laboratory to determine bio-based content. This certification has the potential to serve as a new way to quantify the definition of natural ingredients. "With innovative formulation design and an excellent availability of bio-based ingredients today, we show that it is possible to build a range of USDA Certified Biobased Products at or near 100% 'natural' content that rival or surpass the best in terms of aesthetics, stability, and performance."

These ready-made formulations have been tested across a wide range of industry accepted criteria, including stability testing, to ensure they meet the demanding requirements for personal care products. Based on global consumer trends, the increasing need for both high performance and truly natural ingredients is now a reality for the formulator. We invite you to learn more about these high performing, high bio-based content personal care product formulations by visiting any of our booths during Suppliers' Day or by contacting any one of the companies named in this press release.

Corbion Introduces Clean-Label Tortilla Conditioner

Tortilla Suave CL delivers high-end functionality without relying on conventional dough improvers.

Tortilla manufacturers now have a conditioning option that delivers all the product quality and performance their customers are used to while catering to their desire for a cleaner ingredient label.

Corbion's new Tortilla Suave CL combines freshness and antistick technologies to improve the quality of tortillas without the use of conventional dough improvers. It can be added on top of existing tortilla formulas to reduce sticking and tearing, improve softness and increase rollability.

"Tortilla makers work hard to deliver a great customer experience, so a clean-label alternative solution absolutely must offer all the functionality they're used to," said Ashley Robertson, Market Manager-Bakery at Corbion. "Tortilla Suave CL helps create the outstanding product attributes they need consistently, which means there is less product lost as waste or scrap. The result is an end product that is both more marketable and more efficient."

Optimized for use in both commercial and foodservice channels, Tortilla Suave CL can easily be combined with PristineĀ® Tortilla Base to create a complete Tortilla package.

Corbion offers a full range of conventional and clean-label solutions for tortillas and flatbreads that help manufacturers reduce stickiness, extend freshness, increase process tolerance and enhance resilience and other aspects of product quality. Corbion customers can also benefit from in-house testing facilities and a nationwide technical support team prepared to support the successful implementation of its ingredient solutions.
