Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia – Yesterday (5/27), the opening ceremony of OT Ger’villion, sponsored by Oyu Tolgoi took place at the Cricket ground of National Park of Ulaanbaatar. The pavillion helps improve health and safety at the cricket ground and provides children with a changing area, better first aid facilities, accessible lockers as well as a community space.

Member of Parliament and Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports Ts.Tsogzolmaa, Australian ambassador to Mongolia John Langtry, Indian ambassador to Mongolia Suresh Babu and Oyu Tolgoi’s Operations director Tim Eckersley attended the opening ceremony and handed over the winning prizes to 87th school team players, who won the teen cricket match Yesterday.
Team sports have enormous individual and community benefits and cricket is inclusive with respect to age, build, and gender. Therefore, the Mongolian Cricket Association (MCA) is introducing cricket to Mongolia, helping the sport to take root in country with the focus to make sure that children from diverse backgrounds including orphanage, state schools and international schools are all included.

Special thanks to MCA for successfully building OT Ger’villion and further contributing to the development of Mongolian children by introducing cricket.
