The IQon Elite Spectral CT, a new configuration of the world's first spectral detector-based computed tomography (CT) scanner, debuts a suite of features that will enhance the clinical benefits of the IQon platform to improve diagnostic confidence while enhancing the patient experience, and supporting the needs of emergency/trauma and oncology care.

This new configuration provides a number of enhanced features and benefits, including:
• Enhanced diagnostic certainty - The IQon Elite’s faster reconstruction speeds and better visualization of bone marrow pathology enhance diagnostic confidence within emergency and trauma departments, providing the opportunity to reduce the need for subsequent scans . Its ability to estimate electron density provides enhanced tissue characterization, enabling a new level of diagnostic certainty for oncology clinicians and their patients.
• Increased patient volume - IQon Elite’s faster reconstruction speeds have been shown to enable up to 200 CT patients per day . This is an important benchmark for healthcare facilities experiencing a high volume of patients, especially in the emergency department where CT can be a commonly used imaging modality.
• Enhanced clinical breadth – Its new radiation therapy planning couch and bariatric table top allow larger patients to be scanned with increased positioning controls, providing greater clinical breadth.

3D printing interfacing with Philips IntelliSpace Portal 10 brings innovation into radiology and patient care

Advanced 3D modeling provides radiologists with additional views to help strengthen anatomical knowledge which could enhance clinical impact in reviewing complex, multi-disciplinary cases.
IntelliSpace Portal 10 is the first advanced visualization platform to feature an embedded 3D modeling application for creating and exporting 3D models intuitively into the clinical workflow. A suite of clinician focused rendering and editing tools from across IntelliSpace Portal 10 applications helps assure the model reflects the true patient anatomy.
Through interfacing with IntelliSpace Portal 10, Philips customers will now have a virtually seamless connection to 3D Systems and Stratasys solutions to expedite 3D printing to create models to help radiologists understand patient anatomy that is difficult to visualize and deliver personalized medicine in the most unique, complex cases. Users can create the model in IntelliSpace Portal 10, save the data and easily transfer the data to the 3D vendors’ solutions without leaving the clinical environment.
