Fintec signs £200K Microsoft Dynamics AX deal with WatermarkWinner of Queen’s Award for International Trade prepares systems for future growth
April 2007: Watermark, which merged with Qurius last year to form the largest Microsoft Dynamics partner in Europe, has announced the signing of a major contract to deploy Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 for one of Northern Ireland’s leading manufacturing businesses, Fintec Crushing and Screening Limited.

Fintec has a 50 year pedigree of design and manufacture of specialist machinery for the construction industry, in particular in the production of mobile crushing and screening equipment. In 2006, Fintec won The Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade.

The initial deal with Watermark is valued at £200,000 in software licenses and services, with prospective additional work in the future. Phase I of the project is due to go live in September 2007.

The Microsoft Dynamics AX system from Watermark was selected over competition from Syspro and Sage. It will support Fintec’s aggressive growth plans over the next three years. The company is already one of the most successful and fastest growing in Northern Ireland; last year it increased its warehousing facility to 200,000 square feet.

Eamon Higgins, Finance Director of Fintec, said: “When it came to updating our IT systems, we wanted to maximise our existing investments in Microsoft technology. Choosing Microsoft Dynamics AX will allow us to do this. Selecting a Microsoft-based solution guarantees us access to a network of potential support partners, a development roadmap, and integration with our existing PLM application. The implementation will ensure collective access to a single, dynamic data source and allow us to focus further on managing our growth. The combination of knowledge and experience which Watermark offers made them a good fit as our implementation partner. “

Thomas Ajspur, Sales Director of Watermark UK, said: “Fintec are an exciting company to be working with; they are a real success story. Our experience as the largest European Microsoft Dynamics partner puts us in the perfect position to deliver a world-class system that will really underpin Fintec’s future growth.”
