The Gobi Legacy: International Scientific Conference on a Green Future Combat Desertification

Location: Dalanzadgad City, Umnugobi, Mongolia

Organizers: Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and Oyu Tolgoi, supported by the Government of Umnugobi Province

Aligned with “World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought”, the international scientific conference, The Gobi Legacy: Green Future Combat Desertification, will serve as a regional and international platform to address the challenges of desertification, particularly in the Gobi Desert region and arid regions. This event invites local policymakers, researchers, and international experts to collaborate on sustainable rangeland management, ecological restoration, and innovative approaches to combating desertification in arid regions.

Call for Abstracts

We invite submissions of abstracts that present new research, and innovative approaches, or summarize existing knowledge that can advance strategies against desertification. Submissions should focus on solutions applicable to arid and semi-arid environments, such as the Gobi and other arid regions, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches and actionable outcomes.

Objectives

Enhance Understanding: Expand knowledge of desertification’s impacts on local ecosystems, biodiversity, climate change, and the socio-economic conditions of affected regions.
Foster Collaboration: Promote partnerships integrating scientific research, community engagement, policy innovation, and sustainable practices.
Showcase Solutions: Highlight regional and global success stories in sustainable land management, ecological conservation, and biodiversity preservation.

Abstract Submission Deadline: 10th of September 2024
Acceptance Notification: Within four weeks of submission
Full Paper Deadline: To be announced upon acceptance
Submission Guidelines

Requirements: Abstracts should outline the research aim, methodology, key findings, and their significance. Abstracts should not exceed 300 words.
Full Paper Submission: Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to submit full papers for consideration in the conference proceedings.
Presentation Options: Selected abstracts will be invited for oral presentations or poster sessions based on the preference of the author and the nature of the research.
Formatting Requirements: Abstracts should be formatted in Times New Roman, 12-point font, double-spaced, with 1-inch margins on all sides. Please include 5-8 keywords reflecting the core topics of the paper.
