Today is the official first day of the spring season. Faithful to tradition, FrieslandCampina’s brand Campina marks the farmer season at the beginning of spring. Campina ambassador and top-class skater Patrick Roest had the honour of opening the doors of the shed at the farm of farmer Edwin in Baarn, where the cows joyfully went out into the meadow for the first time this year.

By opening the doors of the shed, Campina celebrates the beginning of the farmer season and spring is ‘mooing’ again. Every year, dairy farmers are looking forward to seeing their cows out in the meadows. This also holds for farmer Edwin, who took over the farm of his uncle in 2015. Edwin: “The beginning of spring marks the start of the season in which the cows can go out grazing in the meadow. For me as a farmer this is a fine moment every year again and this year it spreads an extra positive message. Dancing cows meeting spring on the fresh land, isn’t that wonderful?"

Campina ambassador Patrick Roest fully agrees: “After the skating season, I love to go outside and therefore I am always looking forward to the beginning of spring. I grew up at a farm myself and to me the meadows with grazing cows really are a part of the Dutch landscape and spring."
