Last year already Abafoods has started its journey towards becoming a B Crop and we are proud to now announce its official certification.
B Corps are a new kind of business that balances purpose and profit. The certification doesn’t just evaluate a product or service; it assesses the overall positive impact of the company that stands behind it – it’s impact on their workers, customers, suppliers, community, and the environment. To obtain the B Corp Certification, companies must complete a B Impact Assessment and earn an audited minimum score of 80 out of 200 possible points and recertify every two years.
“ Joining B Corp was a natural next step for us, as social responsibility and sustainability have a long history here at Abafoods. B Corp is a great framework to assess where we stand and challenge ourselves to become better and better. It is fantastic to see the B Corp community growing and to be part of the movement.”
Andrea Piva (Market Director Italy)
Using business as a force for good is at the heart of what we do and integral part of our strategy. We are committed to create a new kind of food company: [insert reference connecting to nature & commitments on website]
Abafoods is the third in our family to pass the certification. Since last year already our French entities Bjorg, Bonneterre & Compagnie as well as Destination are part of the B Corp movement.
“Abafoods becoming a B Corp for us is a next milestone towards all Wessanen entities joining the B Corp movement. To us it is more than a certification, it is a movement towards a more sustainable and inclusive future. It fully represents the values we stand for.”
Christophe Barnouin (CEO Wessanen)
